Debunking Horse Behaviour Myths and Misconceptions
Debunking Horse Behaviour Myths and Misconceptions
Learning about horse behaviour can be quite the challenge in this modern era, there are a number of different beliefs of why horses behave they do and what is the reasoning behind some of the more challenging behavioural problems we may experience as horse owners. This is made even more difficult when widely accepted beliefs hold little to no truth.
In this webinar, we will discuss the common myths and misconceptions many of us were taught at the beginning of our riding careers, or throughout them, some of which many people may still be unaware are myths in the first place. We will then delve into the science behind horse behaviour to help viewers learn how to interpret contextual cues for horse behaviour, allowing them the nuance to try to better problem solve the “whys” behind their horses’ behaviour. We will discuss how differently horses perceive the world from humans to help people better understand why horses behave the way they do/
This webinar is suited to beginners and experienced horse people alike, learning more about how to decipher the signals your horse is giving you can benefit everyone and it will also help create confidence in advocating for your horse, in addition to helping people see the warning signs for potential health issues and lamenesses before they may become more severe.
The host of this webinar, Shelby Dennis, is an IAABC certified Equine Behaviour Consultant (CEBC) with hundreds of hours worth of education in the equine science realm, specializing in horse behaviour.
