Addressing Tension & Anxiety Under Saddle: How I Built The Foundation for My Anxious Mare to Become Relaxed

CA$40.00

Anxiety is a major cause of tension in horses under saddle. There are a number of different causes of anxiety and many different avenues to addressing them. In this webinar, I will go over the training program and tactics I used to help my hollow, high headed, tense and anxious mare go from being a nervous wreck to a lovely and consistent ride who seldom spooks, even after lengthy time off.

We will discuss the crucial management factors to achieving our long term goals with horses and setting them up for success physically and mentally.

We will also go over training equipment, what I recommend using and what I heavily discourage using, as well as training plans to help reduce your horses’ anxiety and help them to lose tension and build correct muscle.

This webinar is about offering methods of fixing behaviours that people commonly use draw reins, tie downs, chambons and other training aids for. I heavily discourage use of these pieces of equipment so this is about offering alternative measures to addressing tension and high headedness, WITHOUT the use of this equipment. I will also go over why I heavily discourage the use of training aids like this.

The premise of this webinar is a patient and relaxed approach to addressing the underlying emotions and physical issues that cause undesirable postures in horses under saddle, as well as undesirable behaviours. The methods for addressing the behaviour will include a lot of ground work, under saddle tactics in addition to management and more.

If you’re looking for immediate quick fixes, this webinar will not provide that as there is no CORRECT immediate fix for the long term project that is building muscle and elasticity because that is the nature of how bodies work, but it will lend you the mindset and information needed to build a foundation of relaxation and correctness that will avoid holes in training that end up slowing progress later on.

When you achieve relaxation and more correct movement under saddle, in the long run, it will keep your horse sounder and happier as well as avoiding anxiety or pain induced behaviours such as bucking, bolting, rearing, refusing jumps etc.

It will also help your horses to be more rideable no matter your discipline, be it jumping, dressage, trails, western disciplines.

Addressing the reason why certain behaviours exist creates a long lasting fix that results in less likelihood of the problem recurring. Tension often changes the posture of horses and renders them unable to use themselves as correctly and creates behaviours like rushing and bolting, disabling the rider’s ability to ride the horse on a long and loose rein, encouraging them to stretch, something that is very beneficial in helping tense horses learn to travel more correctly.

This will be a live webinar that will take place on March 17 at 4PM PST/ 7 PM EST. It will be approximately 2 hours.

If you cannot attend live, the recording will be available to everyone who purchases a ticket!
