Jockey Club registered as “Gogo Eileen”, Eileen is a 8y/o (2013) Thoroughbred mare who stands just under 16hh. Eileen retired from racing over a year ago and spent 2020 learning to pony horses at the racetrack and trail riding. Despite retiring from racing just the year prior, she handled herself well and even ponied me on my first baby to the gates, I think this speaks volumes about her demeanour, her quick learning and how quickly she adapts to new jobs. She retired sound and clean legged from the track with no injuries. Having so many successful racing years while remaining sound and clean legged is a very good indicator of her soundness and athletic ability.

Through the winter, Eileen wasn’t in a consistent program due to not having an arena but has been in part training with me since Jan 1. She is green on the flat and just started jumping in 2021 but has a great natural rhythm, soft mouth and lovely gaits. She is started on her lateral work and has an excellent natural balance in the arena and has been coming along very nicely. She has natural athleticism over fences, quickly figuring out free jumping with a naturally snappy front end and careful hind end. She has been jumped once under saddle and is brave and tries hard. She would develop very nicely as a jumper or event horse. Naturally brave through the water.

Eileen has an amazing temperament and enjoys being around people. Gets along with other horses and has been living outside in a herd. She is a sensitive horse so will be best suited to a soft and quiet rider with the experience to finish developing her but will thrive under such rider.
