Dixie is a 5y/o 15.3hh Thoroughbred gelding who retired sound from racing in 2020. He was given let down time and has since been lightly restarted. Dixie is a lovely boy who is easy to handle and likes people.

He is brave to fences and shows a lot of natural scope even though he has minimal training over fences (free jump photos are his first time free jumping). Dixie would be a great project for a competent junior or amateur looking for a fun horse to take into the hunter, jumper or eventing rings. He should be an easy horse to finish and has a great brain.

Dixie is green under saddle but extremely willing and very quiet for his age. He is pretty simple to ride, has not offered any buck/bolt/rear. He will benefit from more foundational flatwork training to get more supple and connected with the bit, just like any green horse off the racetrack.

Dixie's only vice is that he is a mild cribber, if his stall time is reduced and he is in group turnout, he does it much less. Don't let this vice put you off, contrary to popular belief, cribbing is NOT a learned behaviour and he will not teach it to other horses in the stable.
